Open Studios

Recently I opened my wee studio for the first time. It was a great opportunity to share work in an intimate setting, a kind of mini exhibition, generating rich and interesting conversations with all kinds of folk about building, art and natural materials. It’s the first time I’ve presented all these things together in one space and I’m delighted with how integrated it felt. I also have a growing list of folk that would like to get involved in workshops so I’m reaching out to local venues to see what we can do over the coming months. The pieces I have left could be the beginnings on an online shop but that will wait till the quiet winter months. In Scotland we have to make hay (or things outside) while the sun shines.

I guess its a big reminder about saying “yes” even when things feel a bit scary because it often leads to so much more than the 3 day event. I felt daunted at times (I always do) but I came out the other end with some new friends, confidence and inspiration. The older I get the more I realise I need to keep growing and learning, making connections and integrating art and life.

Do get in touch if you are interested in the art works, in participating or holding workshops, or have an art or design project in mind. I am especially open to collaboration with like minded artists from all disciplines.
